NanogelĀ® aerogel is a silica aerogel that consists of >90% air, in a nanostructure with pore sizes less than the mean free path of air molecules, which severely inhibits heat transfer through the material. Completely hydrophobic, it repels water and retains its properties under compression.
With a thermal efficiency that is 2 to 4 times greater than traditional insulation materials, Nanogel aerogel delivers more insulation performance per inch of depth. It is ideal for situations where space and depth are at a premium.

Nanogel granules are used in loose-fill cavity wall situations. With our specialized equipment, Nanogel granules are inserted into the wall cavities - a similar process to cellulose insulation dense-packing. With an R-value of R-9.6 per inch, Nanogel insulation can bring the overall heat resistance of an older home's wall to R-38. This is 2.5 times higher than traditional insulation such as spray foam, cellulose and fiberglass. Nanogel granules may also be added to plasters and other coating systems to provide thermal insulation.
Nanogel Thermal Wrap(tm) blanket is useful in situations where there a wall cavity is inexistent such as brick and other masonry walls. The Thermal Wrap can easily be cut, rolled, and/or shaped. It is perfect for insulating facades, roofs, and interior walls. Because it delivers high insulation performance even when compressed, it is especially useful as a thermal break in places that otherwise conduct a lot of heat such as over studs and around windows.
In addition to its heat insulating properties, Nanogel aerogel is an excellent sound barrier in both forms (granules and Thermal Wrap).
